Etiquette and Such...

Quick Philosophy...

All of us here at Forward Communications would like to make your Internet experience an enjoyable, entertaining and informative one. We strive to make sure all of our equipment is up-to-date and working properly. If you have any problem, we want to know about it right away so we can resolve it as soon as possible. So, please call us or send email to support@forcomm.net.

Camping Out...

Forward Communications provides all of our customers with unlimited access to the Internet. This means that there is no restriction on when you can login and how long you need to use the service. This does not mean that you can login and stay connect permanently. This is known as "Camping out on the line." It's just common courtesy to logoff and disconnect the line when you're not using it, to let other people have a chance. We maintain a very low user to modem ratio. You should never encounter a busy signal using our service. However, if you do, it should clear up quickly (usually within minutes) because most of our customers are courtous and do disconnect when they are not using the service. Please return the favor and disconnect when you are not using it.

Eating Spam...

Does anyone remember eating spam (A large hunk of bad tasting, not too healthy, mystery meat)? Well, that's what we think of unsolicited junk email. And that's what it's commonly called: spam. Spammers are starting to be more prevalent out there. They seem to have a goal of filling your email box with as much junk mail as you get delivered by the post office. Our goal is to stop them! The big difference is that you don't pay the postoffice for the mail delivery to your house. You are paying for your email account. It seems to us that you would not want something you're paying for to be filled with junk. We try real hard to limit as much spam as we can.

Chit-Chat...

One of the most popular mediums on the Internet today is Chat. The ability to talk (by typing) to all kinds of people everywhere in the world has a fasination all it's own. Thousands of people are meeting new friends everyday. It's sort of like the C.B. craze that hit in the seventies, only on a global basis. But, there's a word of warning here... You will be talking to nameless and faceless people. You have no idea who you're talking to. So, please remember: Don't give your Name, Address or Phone number to anyone you don't know. Never give your username and/or password to anyone. Don't arrange to meet someone, especially if they offer you money or plane tickets (would you give money or plane tickets to anyone you don't know?). Even if you think you're talking to only one person, others may be listening in. Please, be careful, and you will enjoy talking to lots of people all around the world.
