The Internet Setup Wizard is the easiest way to setup your internet connection and Internet Explorer 3.02. Depending on your version of Windows95 the order of your set-up questions may not exactly match the ones below, yet you will find that the answers still to be the same. Complete the following steps:
Note if you see an option for Windows Messaging or Internet Mail Select NO or Remove the check mark and it will gray out the selection.
- Double click on the Internet icon on the desktop, OR, Click the Start button, point to Programs, point to Accessories, point to Internet Tools and click Internet Setup Wizard/Get On the Net.
- Click on Next at the Welcome to Internet Setup! screen.
- If prompted for 'automatic', 'manual', or 'current', select 'manual'. 'Click on next.
- Choose 'Connect using my phone line,' OR 'I use a modem'. Click on Next.
- Choose 'I already have an account with a different service provider.' Click on Next.
- If prompted for modem installation choose a modem from the installed modems, click on Next, OR, Internet Explorer Setup Wizard will install a modem for you. Click on Next.
- Enter our Service Provider Name at this screen ( forcomm ). This will appear in the Dial-Up Networking folder in My Computer as the name of your connection. Click on Next.
- Enter the dial-in phone number at this screen ( 724-378-0000 or the number from your sheet). Then click on Next.
- Enter your user name and password at this screen, (small case letters only). Click on Next.
- When asked about how you will obtain an IP Address, Choose 'My Internet Service Provider automatically assigns me one.' Click on Next.
- Enter the DNS server addresses (151.201.91.6 and 151.201.90.6). Click on Next.
- Click on Finish. Done!
Now, clicking on the Internet icon on the Desktop will connect you to Forward Communications
Click on the START button. Click on Settings. Click on the control panel.
Double Click Internet Icon (IT MAY ALSO SAY INTERNET TOOLS)
Click on Navigation tab.
Go down to the address and change it to http://home.forcomm.net
Click on OK at the bottom of the screen.
Close out control panel.
